What is collected

• Server logs. The web server records each request: the page, the time, the browser’s user agent and the referring page. IP addresses are masked before they are written (the last part of an IPv4 address, the last 80 bits of an IPv6 address). Logs are kept for 14 days and then deleted. They are used to keep the site working and to fix broken links.
• Visit statistics. Umami Cloud, a privacy-focused analytics service, counts visits without cookies. It records the page, the referring site, the browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and country, and clicks on contact links and on links to other sites. The country is derived from the IP address; Umami does not store IP addresses and builds no profiles across sites. Statistics are kept for 6 months. Umami’s servers are in the EU and the US.
• Language choice. If you switch the language, a cookie remembers your choice so the site opens in that language next time. It holds nothing else and is not used for tracking.
• Email. When you write to me, I receive what you send. I use it only to reply and to keep our correspondence.

What is not collected

There are no contact forms, no advertising or tracking cookies and no social-media widgets. The only third-party script is Umami’s counter; fonts and everything else are served from this site’s own server.
